ENROLLMENT TERMS/WAIVER
Registration and Participation
Enrollment in Kindermusik with Miss Corrie is confirmed upon:
• Completion of registration;
• Acceptance of this Enrollment Agreement;
• Payment of applicable fees; and
• Agreement to comply with all studio policies and safety procedures.
Participation is voluntary and families may withdraw in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined below.
Caregiver Participation Requirement
For infant, toddler, preschool, and mixed-age classes, a parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver must remain present and actively supervise their child(ren) for the duration of the class.
Kindermusik with Miss Corrie does not provide one-on-one childcare or bathroom assistance.
Parents and caregivers retain responsibility for:
• Supervising their child’s behaviour and physical safety;
• Assisting with transitions and participation as needed;
• Managing bathroom needs and diapering;
• Monitoring allergies, medical needs, and emotional wellbeing; and
• Ensuring respectful interactions with others.
Authorized Pick-Up
For programs where drop-off is permitted, only individuals authorized by the parent or legal guardian may pick up a child. Identification may be requested when necessary.
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES
Illness Policy
To protect the health and wellbeing of all participants, children and caregivers must not attend class if they:
• Have a fever;
• Have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours;
• Exhibit symptoms of contagious illness;
• Have a diagnosed communicable disease that requires exclusion; or
• Are otherwise unable to comfortably participate.
Families are encouraged to notify the instructor of absences due to illness.
Emergency Medical Care
In the event of a medical emergency, Kindermusik with Miss Corrie may contact emergency services and/or seek emergency medical assistance for a participant when a parent or caregiver cannot be reached immediately.
Parents/guardians assume responsibility for all associated medical costs.
Allergies and Medical Conditions
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the instructor in writing of:
• Allergies;
• Medical conditions;
• Behavioural or developmental considerations relevant to participation; and
• Emergency medical information.
Reasonable efforts will be made to support participant safety; however, families acknowledge that group programs cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.
Physical Safety and Participation
Participation in music and movement activities involves ordinary physical activity including dancing, jumping, balancing, instrument play, and movement exploration.
Parents/guardians acknowledge that minor injuries may occur despite reasonable precautions.
CHILD SAFETY & ABUSE PREVENTION POLICIES
Commitment to Child Protection
Kindermusik with Miss Corrie is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all children and families.
The program maintains policies and practices intended to reduce risk, promote transparency, and support child safeguarding.
Supervision Standards
The following safety practices are maintained whenever reasonably possible:
• Classes occur in open, observable environments;
• Parents/caregivers remain present for caregiver-child classes;
• Visibility into classrooms or teaching spaces is maintained where feasible;
• Appropriate student-to-instructor ratios are maintained;
• Physical contact is limited to developmentally appropriate, non-coercive, and instructional interactions;
• Children are never subjected to humiliating, shaming, threatening, or degrading discipline practices;
• Private one-on-one isolated situations between instructor and child are avoided whenever possible.
Behaviour Expectations
All participants and caregivers are expected to contribute to a respectful and safe learning environment.
The following behaviours may result in removal from a class or termination of enrollment:
• Aggressive or violent behaviour;
• Harassment or intimidation;
• Inappropriate physical contact;
• Disruptive or unsafe conduct;
• Failure to comply with safety procedures;
• Abusive, discriminatory, or threatening language or behaviour.
Reporting Concerns
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to report any safety concern, boundary concern, or inappropriate behaviour immediately.
Kindermusik with Miss Corrie reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to safety concerns, including removal from programming, contacting authorities when legally required, or implementing additional supervision measures.
Mandatory Reporting Compliance
Where required under applicable Ontario child protection laws, concerns regarding child safety or suspected abuse may be reported to the appropriate child welfare authority.
MEDIA RELEASE
From time to time, photographs or short video clips may be taken during classes or events for educational, promotional, or community-building purposes.
Families may choose whether to grant permission.
Families may revoke consent in writing at any time for future use.
PAYMENT POLICIES
Tuition and Fees
Families agree to pay all tuition, registration fees, and applicable charges according to the payment schedule communicated at enrollment.
Missed classes are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Withdrawal and Cancellation
Families requesting withdrawal must provide written notice by the 20th of the month to avoid being billed the following month.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Any refunds, credits, or make-up classes are offered solely at the discretion of Kindermusik with Miss Corrie unless otherwise specified in writing.
Program Changes
Kindermusik with Miss Corrie reserves the right to:
• Adjust schedules;
• Modify instructors, locations, or curriculum;
• Combine classes where necessary;
• Cancel programs due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances.
Reasonable notice will be provided whenever possible.
LIABILITY WAIVER & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I/we acknowledge that participation in music and movement activities involves inherent risks associated with physical activity, group participation, use of instruments and props, and interaction with other participants.
By enrolling, I/we voluntarily assume all ordinary risks associated with participation and release Kindermusik with Miss Corrie, its owner, instructors, employees, assistants, contractors, landlords, and affiliated venues from liability for ordinary injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation, except where prohibited by law or resulting from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
I/we acknowledge responsibility for supervising my/our child and ensuring that participation is appropriate for the child’s age, development, and physical condition.
COMMUNICABLE ILLNESS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Families acknowledge that participation in community-based programming may involve exposure to communicable illnesses, including but not limited to seasonal viruses.
While reasonable cleaning and hygiene practices are implemented, Kindermusik with Miss Corrie cannot guarantee that exposure will not occur.
Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the family’s discretion.
CODE OF CONDUCT
All participants and caregivers agree to:
• Treat instructors, children, caregivers, and staff respectfully;
• Follow studio safety rules and procedures;
• Use equipment and instruments appropriately;
• Maintain respectful communication;
• Refrain from disruptive, aggressive, discriminatory, or abusive conduct.
Kindermusik with Miss Corrie reserves the right to refuse or terminate enrollment where behaviour compromises safety, wellbeing, or the positive operation of the program.
PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY
Personal information collected during registration is used solely for:
• Program administration;
• Emergency communication;
• Attendance and billing;
• Safety and operational purposes.
Information will be handled respectfully and will not be shared except as reasonably necessary for program operations, legal compliance, emergency response, or as otherwise authorized by the parent/guardian.
