Spring Show dates TBD, but will be mid May-very early June

Join Crescendo Swing Choir, and be part of the choir that cares! Proudly offered by KMNS Kids Music Northshore LLC, 5th-8th graders are invited to become part of this "Glee"-style singing and dancing ensemble, which performs pop and musical theater songs at both biannual recitals/concerts, as well as community events. We also plan volunteering and outreach events in our communities.

Choir is open to all who wish to participate: no auditions required, just a chance to grow and shine! Choir members will gain valuable singing, music-reading, and dance skills. They'll make new like-minded friends from across the suburbs, and have the chance to participate in team-building, solo-opportunities, and activities that give back to their communities.

Rehearsals are held each Sunday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm (but may be shorter) at Dance Queen Q studios in Arlington Heights, at the corner of Lake Cook and Arlington Heights roads. Full group rehearsals, occasional sectionals, or solo rehearsals occur during this time. Performances occur as scheduled. Reach out to crescendoswingchoir@gmail.com for our Google calendar of rehearsal and events!

Kara Spector

Kara Spector has been a local music educator for over 20 years. She graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a BM in Music Education and a BA in Creative Writing, and later received her MAEd in Gifted Education from Northestern Illinois University. While at NU, Kara was conductor of the SAI Music Fraternity for Women's Beta Chapter Choir (where she was both a Sword Of Honor recipient and College Honor Award Recipient), and the assistant conductor of the Cantores Minores Chicago Boys Choir. Her career began with a decade as a public school music, language arts and gifted education teacher. During this time, Kara also fostered her passion for teaching and performing in musical theatre and has since enjoyed relationships with Big Deal Productions, Big Noise Theater, and Adlai E. Stevenson High School, where she has worked as a music director, choreographer and director in children's musical theatre productions. She is the proud director the Crescendo Swing Choir for middle schoolers and Crescendo Minor Choir for young elementary schoolers, a Glee-style performing troup. Kara also maintains a private voice studio of talented young and adult singers from across the suburbs. Her Kindermusik journey began when Miss Cathy, a friend from the community theatre scene, invited Kara and her new babies to class, and the rest, as they say, is history! She is delighted to bring the joy of Kindermusik and early elementary music programming to you and your children.
